Kevin B. Campbell
Kevin B. Campbell was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986. He is a 1981 graduate of New York Institute of Technology, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and a minor in Criminal Justice. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree in, he attended Brooklyn Law School where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and graduated in 1985 with a Juris Doctorate Degree.Mr. Campbell, while attending undergraduate and law school was a detective with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) assigned to confidential investigations. He is the recipient of the NYPD’s Commendation Award for apprehending a homicide suspect and the Excellent Police Duty Award for apprehending a taxi cab robbery suspect. Mr. Campbell was inducted into the Honor Legion of the NYPD for his superior police work. Upon completion of law school, he was assigned to the Police Department’s Department Advocates office, representing the Department’s executive management, implementing department policies and procedures.
Upon retirement, after 20 years police service, Mr. Campbell went into private practice concentrating in the area of public sector Labor Law, and Criminal Defense. This practice included representing public employees in labor disputes. His criminal practice involved numerous criminal trials in the courts of New York City, Nassau and Suffolk County.
Mr. Campbell was a frequent guest commentator on Court TV from its inception until 1997.
In 2001, Mr. Campbell joined the prestigious law firm of Feldman, Kramer and Monaco, PC. concentrating in assisting members of the firm’s many Legal Plans. He is the recipient of the 2012 Humanitarian Award for pro bono services and the 2013 Member’s Choice Award.
Currently, Mr. Campbell concentrates in the area of Criminal Defense and defense of Traffic Violations in Suffolk County.
He is the senior arbitrator in the Small Claims Part of the District Courts in Suffolk County; a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and is a member of the Lawyers helping Lawyers committee, the Criminal Law and Traffic Court committees.
Mr. Campbell’s personal interests include art, as an ongoing student at the Arts Student’s League, photography, travel, bicycling and sailing. As a retired Police Officer, Mr. Campbell is a volunteer member of the NYPD Retiree Mobilization Plan, standing ready to assist with civil emergencies.
Mr. Campbell is a volunteer the Northport Veterans Hospital as a “friendly companion” that is part of the “No Veteran Dies Alone” program. This is a program whereby a volunteer visits with a veteran who has no relatives or friends and accompanies the veteran at on site social events and takes the veteran to lunch and other on-site activities.
