Marianne S. Rantala
Ms. Rantala’s legal expertise is concentrated in estate planning, probate and estate administration and elder law. Her estate planning practice includes wills, various types of trusts, powers of attorney, advanced health care directives and living wills, as well as assisting with the post-death administration. The elder law area includes tackling complex issues with Medicaid asset protection planning and guardianship proceedings.
Ms. Rantala graduated class from University of Miami School of Law in 1994. While at University of Miami School of Law, she was invited to join the Entertainment and Sports Law Review. She worked as an independent contractor for the prestigious Miami criminal defense law firm of Black, Srebnick and Kornspan, P.A., from 1995 through 1999. Ms. Rantala practiced in divorce/family law and high level criminal defense in her own solo law practice in both Florida and New York, until transitioning completely into the trusts and estates field in the past several years.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rantala was a practicing Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells of West Palm Beach, Florida, in both the audit and tax departments.
Ms. Rantala is an Officer of the Suffolk Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Suffolk County Bar Association. She is a member of the Trusts and Estates and Elder Law sections of the New York State Bar Association, as well as the Surrogate’s Court and Elder Law committees of the Suffolk County Bar Association. Ms. Rantala is a member of the Wealth Counsel, a national organization of trusts and estates attorneys and other legal, tax and business professionals who design sophisticated planning techniques for individuals and families. Ms. Rantala is passionate about helping families create happy and secure futures, peace of mind, and obtaining freedom from worries.
